Your ChatGPT ad — with a cost per lead

The pixel counts enquiries from your site, spend comes in every 6 hours, and each ad shows its enquiries, qualified leads and their cost — in the same report as Meta.

    What happened
      • Spend by itself

Every 6 hours, per ad and day, with a read-only key. The last 3 days are refreshed.

      • Paid kept apart

A click from an ad counts as paid ChatGPT — apart from people who come from ChatGPT without one.

      • Consent first

The pixel loads after cookie consent, and stages go out only for people with marketing consent.

      Pixel and Conversions API

Views and enquiries from your site reach OpenAI from the browser and from the server — with the same event ID, so they aren’t counted twice.

      Spend beside enquiries

Spend, impressions and clicks per ad — beside enquiries, qualified leads and their cost. In “Traffic sources”, next to Meta.

      Viewing and deal, back

The qualified status goes out as appointment_scheduled, the deal as deal_closed. The ad learns which clicks become clients.

      Currencies never mixed

Spend arrives in the ad account’s currency. Euro and lev convert at the fixed rate; any other currency stays separate, with no cost per enquiry from it.

      Spend key

Settings › Advertiser API key — read-only access to reports. The first pull takes the last 30 days.

      Frequently asked about ChatGPT ads

What do we need to connect ChatGPT ads?

An OpenAI Ads account. The Pixel ID is enough to start; the Conversions API key and the Advertiser API key for spend are added in Integrations › ChatGPT ads when you have them.

Can we advertise a specific property?

Not under OpenAI’s current policy — the ad points to a property search, a valuation or “Sell with us”. The policy is OpenAI’s and may change.

      How often is spend updated?

Every 6 hours, per ad and day. The last 3 days are refreshed on every pull, and the first one goes back 30 days.

How is an enquiry tied to the ad?

By the ad ID in its link (utm_content). Then spend sits beside the enquiries, qualified leads and their cost. An ad with spend but no visitors still shows as its own row.

What does OpenAI learn about our clients?

Two events — viewing booked and deal — only for leads that came from a ChatGPT ad, and only if the person gave marketing consent at the enquiry. They go with the ad click and a hashed email and phone. Sending is off until you turn it on.
